AI image describer: describe any image in seconds

ما هو Image Describer?

Overview

Image Describer is an online AI image describer for turning a picture into usable text. Upload one image, choose the kind of text you need, and the tool analyzes the objects, scene, actions and context and writes the result in the browser. It can produce a short or detailed description, accessibility alt text, a general image prompt or a prompt tailored to Flux, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion, text extracted with OCR, a style analysis, object recognition, or SEO-friendly copy. There is nothing to install, and you can try it once without creating an account.

How it works

The workflow has three steps.

  1. Upload an image. Drag and drop a file, select one, or paste an image URL. JPG, PNG, WebP and HEIC are supported.
  2. Choose your options. Pick an analysis option and an output language. Unpaid accounts select one output type per run. Paid users can switch to Multi Select and generate several outputs, for example Description and Alt Text, from a single upload.
  3. Get results. The model streams the text back in seconds. You can copy it or download it. Recent results are kept only in your browser, in IndexedDB, for a short period (up to 20 results for 7 days) and are not synced to any cloud history.

Output types and what they are good for

Short and detailed descriptions. Plain-language summaries of what an image shows, from a single sentence to a fuller paragraph that covers subjects, setting, lighting and materials. Useful for catalogs, archives, content briefs and anyone who needs to explain an image in words.

Alt text for accessibility. Concise, context-aware alt text that helps screen reader users understand an image and supports WCAG-oriented publishing workflows. Teams that publish many images can write alt text far faster and then review it before it goes live.

Image to prompt. Upload a reference image and turn its subject, setting, style, lighting, color, composition and material relationships into a structured prompt. There is a general prompt option and dedicated outputs for Flux, Midjourney and Stable Diffusion. This is handy for reverse-engineering a look you want to recreate or vary in a generative model.

Extract Text (OCR). Pull readable text out of images, screenshots and scans, such as a poster, a slide or a photographed note, and then describe the image together with its text and context.

Style analysis and object recognition. Identify the visual style, mood and composition of an image, or list the objects it contains. Useful for moodboards, tagging and organizing a media library.

SEO-friendly text and social captions. Generate image descriptions written for search, plus captions and hashtags for social posts, as a starting point that a human editor can refine.

Batch processing

Paid credits unlock batch processing within the upload limits. You can upload several images, describe them with consistent outputs, and export the results. This suits product catalogs, blog image libraries and social calendars where the same kind of text is needed for many pictures.

Free path and credits

The free path is honest and limited.

  • Guests can run one image analysis without logging in. Trial and abuse-prevention limits apply.
  • New accounts receive 5 credits, and can claim 3 more credits once per UTC day. The daily reward expires at the end of that UTC day.
  • Unpaid accounts select a single output type per analysis.

Pricing is credit-based. Each selected output type costs 1 credit per image, so a Description plus Alt Text on one image costs 2 credits. Credits are deducted after the model output stream completes. According to the site's pricing FAQ, upload or validation failures and failed streams do not keep the charge.

  • One-time packs: 100 credits for $4.99, 300 for $9.99, 800 for $19.99, and 1,500 for $29.99. Pack credits never expire.
  • Monthly plans: 600 credits for $9.99 or 3,000 credits for $29.99. Subscription credits expire and do not roll over.
  • API packs: 11,000 credits for $99.99 or 25,000 for $199.99, for integrators who contact support before integrating.

Because there is a free trial path and paid credits, the right directory label is Freemium, not fully free.

Who uses it

  • Web editors and accessibility teams writing alt text for large image libraries.
  • Marketers and social media managers who need captions and SEO image copy quickly.
  • E-commerce sellers describing product photos consistently across a catalog.
  • AI artists and designers converting reference images into prompts for Flux, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion.
  • Developers who want image-to-text through API credit packs.
  • Students and researchers who need text extracted from screenshots and scans, or a written description of a chart or photo. The site also has a PTE "Describe Image" practice page that turns a chart, map or photo into a 70 to 90 word English sample answer.

A typical workflow example

Imagine you manage a blog with a large archive of older posts whose images have no alt text. You can upload an image, select Alt Text, and get a concise description to review against the surrounding article. If you also want a caption for a social post that promotes the same article, a paid account can select Alt Text and Short Description together, which costs two credits for that image. For a whole folder of images, batch processing keeps the outputs consistent so your editors only have to check and adjust the wording rather than write every line from scratch.

Practical tips

  • Pick only the outputs you need. Each selected output type costs a credit per image.
  • For alt text, add a sentence of page context in your own review: the best alt text depends on why the image is on the page.
  • For prompts, choose the model-specific option (Flux, Midjourney or Stable Diffusion) that matches the tool you will paste into.
  • For OCR, use a clear, high-resolution screenshot or scan. Small or blurred text is harder to read for any model.
  • Review AI-generated text before publishing, especially descriptions of people, brand names or anything sensitive.

Privacy, languages and support

Recent results are stored locally in your browser rather than as cloud history. The interface is available in English and Chinese (/zh). The site publishes a privacy policy, a payments and refund policy and an accessibility page. For help, contact support@imagedescriber.dev.

To try it, upload a photo to the AI image describer for alt text, captions and prompts. The first analysis is free and needs no login.
