How a chart is generated

The calculator follows a short three-step form.

• Ephemeris. Positions are computed with the Swiss Ephemeris, and the site links to the official Swiss Ephemeris programming documentation.
• Zodiac and ayanamsa. Charts are sidereal, with the Lahiri ayanamsa by default. Raman and Krishnamurti are also available in advanced settings.
• Houses and nodes. The natal chart uses whole sign houses. Rahu uses the mean lunar node, and Ketu is placed 180 degrees opposite.
• Time zones and daylight saving. The recorded local date and time are converted to UTC using the birthplace's IANA time zone and the rules that applied on the birth date. The rules come from the runtime time-zone database, so historical coverage and versions may differ. A time that never existed because clocks moved forward is rejected. A time that occurred twice after clocks rolled back asks you to choose the first or the second occurrence. Location lookup may return an approximate zone, so the site asks you to confirm it.
• Limits. The publisher says plainly that it has not published independent cross-validation data and does not claim sub-arcsecond accuracy for the complete chart. The technical references explain how the calculations and time-zone rules work. They do not certify the site.
